Drawing from a deep well of finely-crafted original songs, Susan Ellenton and Robert Anderson sing with humour and poignancy about island life, family history and these troubled times.  Their easy rapport, blended harmonies and compelling storytelling have brought audiences to their feet at numerous festivals, folk clubs, music camps and neighbourhood block parties.

Susan's musical roots run deep in Canadiana and the participatory songs of summer camps. Her songs range from a capella call&response to evocative storytelling at the piano. These days she finds inspiration in a beat-up little red Hohner accordion, a custom redwood dulcimer (thank you Robert!) and her one-hundred-year-old baby grand piano. Robert Anderson grew up on Vancouver Island, singing jazz with his Dad and listening to musicals with his Mom. They gave him his first guitar for his 14th birthday and he has been playing ever since. He began building guitars in 1995  and it quickly progressed from a hobby to a vocation. He has performed since the 1970's, at festivals and folk clubs, restaurants, bars, in musical theatre productions, parks and living rooms, and on street corners. Susan & Robert are life partners who met on the west coast of Vancouver Island in the mid-80's. If you’re a fan of BBC's "Great Railway Journeys of the World" you will have seen Susan & Robert on reruns of the 1994 Canadian episode, featuring Robert’s Blackberry Jam. More recently, their songs have been covered by several west coast choirs - in particular, Susan's  Shine On and Robert's Open Up Your Heart.
